In the main if you have maintained good healthy teeth and visited the dentist regularly it is more than likely that you will be suitable for teeth whitening. Indeed the vast majority of people are.
However there are a few conditions that may make teeth whitening inappropriate or could make teeth whitening sensitive;-
1) Active gum disease or receding gums
2) Under 16 years of age
3) If you have over brushed your teeth this can lead to the exposure of the dentine at the base of the tooth. Also excessive consumption of carbonated drinks.
4) If you are pregnant.
5) More severe forms of fluorosis (brown spots to dark patches) would require a different kind of treatment as they would not really benefit from normal teeth whitening, mild cases are not such a big deal.
The amazing fact of course still remains. If you placed a tooth in a can of fizzy drink it would dissolve completely over the course of 12 – 24 hours!
Dentists have been whitening teeth for hundreds of years using carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide. Fundamentally it is safe apart from the aforementioned points, and we always recommend that you visit your dentist about your personal situation before under taking any whitening procedure.
All the products that we sell at www.crestwhitestrips.co.uk are dental strength carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide. They really do work and will whiten your teeth back to their natural shade.
Happy Whitening
