Baby makes four for Grace McClure - New Goals and Signposts
Adapted excerpt from Grace’s pregnancy article for Ultra Fit Magazine (currently week 23, as on Dec 8th 2008).

I feel blessed and inspired with this gift of life and am growing and working spiritually, mentally and physically through this pregnancy. I talk to my unborn baby, as does my son and husband, and we see our little 'Cosy' (her pet name) is already a part of our family. I connect with her with love. I rub organic oil and amber paste on my belly and breathe deeply, listen and allow visions and voice to come from her to allow this connection. I make whole healthy foods to eat. I walk, jog, swim, do yoga and enjoy showing her jogging paths and nature. I enjoy communicating with her in dreams and with love (I don’t know for sure but feel strongly it is a girl). As the discomforts of my changing body arise I reassure myself that my growing belly is a growing life force, a natural process of life and that a little soul has chosen our family to join. I practice accepting the changes in my body. For some that may seem far fetched, however for me it is simply tuning into an ancient wisdom and listening to my body. I’m looking forward to 'Cosy’s birth-day’ and to giving myself time to get back into athletic training for the endurance events I love….. So stay tuned!

Ricky Gervais is the first to admit that his teeth are neither white nor straight - and Americans mistakenly think he wears bad false teeth for comedic purposes. Why the dental divide?

British teeth are not like American teeth. Right Kate Beckinsale (before and after).

The British traditionally prefer "nice natural smiles - natural in colour", and have had a more functional view of teeth and dentistry, whereas Americans have always seen teeth more aesthetically, hence the rise of the artificial smile in show business and pop culture.

But the main difference is that Brits tend to go for more conservative treatments.

Foods That Destroy Your White Smile

Tooth discolouration can happen to us all, it is when the enamel (the hard, outer surface of the tooth) or the dentine (the layer below the enamel) become discoloured. Something as simple as food and drink may cause stains to appear on the teeth. Sometimes however, discolouration can indicate something more serious, such as exposure to substances that have harmed the teeth.

It takes several years for tooth enamel to develop and in that time, foreign substances can be incorporated altering the eventual colour of the teeth. In children, discoloured baby teeth are usually a result of tooth decay, which is often caused by inadequate brushing. In such cases, normal, permanent teeth grow in to replace the discoloured teeth. However, if your child's teeth appear discoloured despite careful brushing, there is probably some sort of a dental problem and you should consult your dentist.

In rare cases, childhood infections can make a tooth yellow or brown because the enamel did not develop properly. An infant may have tooth discolouration if the mother took tetracycline during pregnancy. Similarly, children who take this medication during the period of permanent tooth development may have similar discolouration of their permanent teeth.

Teeth can darken over time due to stains from food and drink. Excessive use of fluoride can cause whitish to dark brown discolouration. Illness, malnutrition, and other types of physical stress can cause white splotches on the teeth. An injury that causes bleeding in the pulp of the tooth may cause the enamel to turn pink or grey

NEW STUDY SHOWS WHITER TEETH CAN LEAD TO GREATER SUCCESS IN WORK AND LOVE

Individuals Seen As More Attractive, Confident, Trustworthy And Financially Successful With Whiter Teeth

Cincinnati, OH (May 2007) – Today, results of a study conducted by an independent research firm provide new evidence that a beautiful white smile has a direct effect on successful interpersonal interactions, both socially and professionally. “The Impact of Whiter Teeth on Key First Impressions” study, commissioned by Crest Whitestrips, shows that a whiter smile substantially affects how others think of you when you first meet.
According to the three part study, which included simulated job interviews, simulated first dates and a quantitative online survey; more than half of the study participants were more likely to be hired (58%) and received larger salary offers (53%) after their teeth had been whitened. The study also found that evaluators expressed a greater interest in continuing their interaction or “date” with more than half of the study participants (54%) after their teeth had been whitened.
“This study provides some of the first findings that speak to the powerful benefits of having a whiter smile,” says Dr. Dacher Keltner, smile psychologist and Professor of Psychology at University of California at Berkeley. “Visible from 200 feet, it is the intense focus of what other people look at, and a sign of our warmth, confidence, and health.”
During the simulated job interviews, it was also found that a majority of the study participants were viewed to be more professional (65%) and more confident (61%) after their teeth had been whitened. And, on their simulated first dates, more than half of study participants were viewed to be more outgoing (59%) after their teeth had been whitened.

The third part of the study, a quantitative online survey of 1,006 people, was consistent with the first two studies conducted, finding that individuals with whiter teeth have more positive attributes than individuals with stained teeth across the following variables: financial success, trustworthiness and professional success. Regardless of gender, age, income, education, employment or martial status, participants came to the same conclusion.
Additionally, participants were asked about the importance of personal appearance. Across the board, the majority agrees a person’s appearance is an indication of their:

 Professional success (68%)
 Financial success (64%)
 Trustworthiness (52%)
